Job Summary
The Surface Maintenance I&E Planner will facilitate communication between production and maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained with minimal interruption to production. Preserve the integrity of the CMMS through table updates, troubleshooting system issues, and minimizing emergency breakdown work. Maintain a working plan to prioritize activities during scheduled and unscheduled outages to resolve issues while considering safety and impacts to costs and the environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring that work orders are properly planned and coordinated. Working with Purchasing, the Warehouse, and Vendors as necessary to be certain all parts and equipment are available for planned maintenance to include kitting/staging parts for scheduled work.
- Supporting the I/E department as needed or directed by I/E Supervisors, including covering I/E supervisor's absences and outage support/coverage.
- Coordination with Operation and Maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained with minimal production interruption.
- Preserving the integrity of the CMMS (computer maintenance management system) through table updates and troubleshooting system issues.
- Using CMMS, develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to create a proactive maintenance environment.
- Reviewing completed work orders to ensure parts are issued and costs are rolled up. Maintaining the work order backlog, equipment history, and equipment files.
- Creating and maintaining equipment Bill of Materials.
- Using maintenance KPI’s to develop paths forward to eliminate obstacles.
- Conducting workplace examinations, safety audits, and contributing/participating in leading safety/PASS meetings.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes while focusing on safety and best practices.
- Performs tasks in accordance with the quality and environmental management systems established according to the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO14001 2015 standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency with EAM Systems (Microsoft D365) and all Microsoft computer applications.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to interact with and provide support for employees at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
- Familiarity with plant systems and equipment, CMMS's, Microsoft Projects, and Management Operating System (MOS).
- Familiarity with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations for a mining/manufacturing site.
- Strong organizational skills, technical writing ability, ability to interpret technical writing and drawings.
- Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Education and Experience
- Certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical & Instrumentation, or equivalent, plus a minimum of five years’ experience in industrial operations, maintenance, and/or warehousing.
- Coursework in planning & scheduling and a working knowledge of CMMS a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of walking and standing.
- Prolonged periods in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Able to meet physical demands of the position.
