Environment Engineer

More About the Role

• Carrying out environmental management services (permits, licenses, declarations, etc.) within the scope of the Environmental Permit and License Regulation in accordance with environmental laws and regulations, and following environmental inspection processes with official authorities as well as developments in national and international environmental legislation,
• Coordinating with relevant departments to ensure compliance of environmental performance with legal requirements, conducting site inspections and reporting activities, and providing environmental awareness and information trainings,
• Monitoring the compliance of waste storage areas with legal requirements, following up waste analyses, carrying out activities for the prevention, reduction, or neutralization of waste sources, and researching recycling opportunities for recoverable waste,
• Coordinating and monitoring activities carried out within the scope of the TS EN ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System, ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Management System and verification processes, ISO 14046 Water Footprint studies and IFC, EBRD and other international environmental requirements,
• Preparing for management review meetings and preparing meeting minutes after the meetings,
• Supporting the preparation of environmental emergency plans and ensuring that drills are conducted,
• Monitoring the operation of wastewater treatment plants and compliance with applicable legal requirements,
• Preparing annual greenhouse gas calculations, ensuring their readiness for verification and monitoring and controlling data from Continuous Emission Monitoring Devices,
• Carrying out Green Transformation in Industry activities.

All About You

• Graduated from the Environmental Engineering Department of a university,
• Holding a valid Environmental Officer Certificate,
• Having problem-solving, planning, and work follow-up skills and being able to manage relations with public institutions and organizations,
• Preferably having at least 3 years of experience in the field of environmental management in industrial facilities,
• Fluency in English both written and verbal,
• Preferably having completed DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor), TS EN ISO 14001:2015 Basic Training, ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Management and Internal Audit trainings,
• Having knowledge and experience regarding legislation practices related to industrial air emissions, stack gas measurements, emission modeling, environmental monitoring and reporting activities; operation and performance monitoring of flue gas treatment systems (SCR, electrostatic precipitators, etc.) and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS),
• Having knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operation and process monitoring, holding a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Competency Certificate, and preferably a Green Transformation Officer in Industry Certificate,
• Residing in or able to reside in the Mersin region.
