Position Summary:

The Consolidation Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's financial consolidation processes, intercompany accounting activities, and consolidated financial reporting efforts. This role supports the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial information across multiple entities and jurisdictions while helping ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, company accounting policies, and reporting requirements. The Consolidation Manager partners closely with the Accounting Director organization, business unit finance teams, and finance leadership to ensure financial reporting integrity, compliance with reporting requirements, and continuous improvement of consolidation and reporting processes.  The key responsibilties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications, as responsibilities may be modified to meet changing business needs.

Financial Consolidation & Reporting

  • Coordinate and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation processes across legal entities.
  • Prepare and review consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation adjustments, and other consolidation-related accounting activities.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of consolidated financial information and reporting packages.
  • Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate reporting submissions from business units and legal entities to ensure timely completion of close and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and support executive management reporting packages, financial analyses, and reporting deliverables.
  • Maintain consolidation workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Support compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual U.S. GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements 

Accounting & Intercompany Accounting

  • Coordinate and monitor monthly intercompany reconciliation processes across legal entities.
  • Responsible for booking accounting entries for non-operational business entities.
  • Review intercompany transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment and elimination within consolidated financial statements.
  • Investigate and resolve intercompany differences in collaboration with accounting and finance teams.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of intercompany accounting policies and procedures.
  • Promote consistency and accuracy in intercompany accounting processes across reporting entities.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

  • Support compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, company accounting policies, and applicable financial reporting requirements within areas of responsibility.
  • Research, document, and recommend accounting treatment for complex, unusual, or non-routine transactions.
  • Support implementation of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and accounting policy updates.
  • Assist in maintaining accounting policies and procedures related to consolidation, reporting, and intercompany accounting activities.
  • Evaluate the financial reporting impact of organizational changes, acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic initiatives.

Audit & Regulatory Support

  • Serve as a key liaison and subject matter expert for external, statutory, and internal auditors regarding consolidation, reporting, and related accounting matters.
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to audit inquiries.
  • Support annual audits, quarterly reviews, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of financial reporting disclosures and supporting analyses as required.
  • Ensure consolidation documentation and supporting schedules meet audit and compliance standards.

Systems, Process Improvement, Internal Controls & Governance

  • Support governance over consolidation and financial reporting systems to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process consistency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve internal controls structure for reporting accuracy, close efficiency, and process standardization.
  • Support automation initiatives, systems enhancements, and reporting process improvements.
  • Partner with accounting leadership and business stakeholders to improve financial reporting processes and data quality.
  • Assist with ERP, reporting, and consolidation system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Promote best practices related to consolidation methodologies, reporting governance, and financial data management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in financial consolidation, external reporting, or technical accounting.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting required.
  • Experience supporting external audits and financial reporting processes required.
  • Experience with multinational organizations and foreign currency translation preferred.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, mining, or other complex multi-entity organizational experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and multinational reporting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial consolidation methodologies, intercompany eliminations, and foreign currency translation accounting.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across functions without direct authority.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system proficiency.
  • Experience with consolidation and financial reporting applications preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to participate in meetings, presentations, and periodic site visits.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
